The first gameplay footage of the highly anticipated “Mass Effect: Andromeda” title is finally out and it is looking promising. Aside from the clear graphical improvements, particularly with facial movements, players can also jump and walk now; this is a big deal for anyone who played the lasted three entries.

The video was first unveiled during Sony’s PlayStation Meeting event, where the company introduced the “PlayStation 4 Slim” and the “PlayStation 4 Pro” to the world, Gamespot reports. BioWare made an appearance to showcase the next installment to the spacefaring franchise and it was absolutely stunning.

It was a natural venue for all parties involved since the gameplay video was taken from the actual playthrough using the “PS4 Pro.” This allowed Sony to display the power of its console and allowed the developers to showcase the results of their work in the best light possible.

In the video, the game’s protagonist called Ryder and the game’s crew is inside a cavernous space. They seem to have discovered something and were in the process of discussing what it was when things started to go wrong. During the scenes, viewers were treated to new elements of the game, including the ability to jump and walk.

As Cinema Blend notes and as said in the video repeatedly, the footage was taken from a pre-alpha version of the game. As such, it doesn’t represent what gamers will likely see when the game is finally finished.

Even so, the thought of running a “Mass Effect” game on 4K resolution and on a powerful console like the newest PS4 is enough to get the imaginations of fans going. Even more enticing is the prospect of solving the mysteries that have been nagging players of the previous games, such as the events that followed the Reaper Wars and the fate of the first trilogy’s protagonist, Commander Shepard.
